Elder statesmen in the UK rap arena, rappers PAV4N and Sonnyjim, alongside guests M.O.N.G.O. of Mud Fam, Heems formerly of Das Racist, Juss Nandhra and Sikander Khalon rap in English, Punjab and Hindi about their lives at the intersection of hip-hop and the Indian diasporic experience. PAV4N and Sonnyjim voyaged across India to bring Amritsar to life, cutting records and shooting videos in the executive suite of the Taj Mahal, the jungle in Goa, and temples in Amritsar. The album is the first full body of work from Kartik, a young producer from Punjab who weaved soul samples and soundbites from classic Punjabi cinema and folk records on a broken laptop as he travelled between hospital waiting rooms, taxis and his parents’ home. PAV4N is a founding member of London rap crew Foreign Beggars who has worked with Skrillex, Steve Aoki, Knife Party, DJ Vadim, Amp Fiddler and Sez On The Beat (watch the official video for “Karma”).
