Valid explores life’s highs and lows on new ‘Peach Brandy’ album

Detroit artist Valid has dropped off a fresh album called ‘Peach Brandy’. The prolific emcee has had a big run of late- collaborating with Stretch Money for the acclaimed album ‘Bill & Isiah’, appearing and performing in the new Detroit Tigers jersey reveal video, and dropping a set of engaging singles from ‘Peach Brandy’ such as “May 6th” and “Never Question”, featuring fellow Motor City mainstay Neisha Neshae. For his new album, Valid tells the tale of his life and its ups and downs in a way that draws the listener in from the get-go, while also providing a versatility that makes ‘Peach Brandy’ a dynamic and exciting record. On ‘Peach Brandy’, Valid explores both the victories and setbacks he has faced along the way, with an overarching theme of resilience and overcoming obstacles, and undertones of self-acceptance.

Valid brings a wide range of sounds and styles on ‘Peach Brandy’ while also maintaining a captivating authenticity. “One Of A Kind”, with DJ Rokam, captures this authenticity with its message of self-empowerment atop grooving, energizing production. The catchy “Nine To Five”, with Stretch Money, presents a clever and poignant take on hustling and working a daily job atop infectious instrumentation, paired with Valid and Stretch Money’s undeniable chemistry. Blending hip-hop and R&B, Valid delivers an emotive performance alongside Neisha Neshae on “Never Question”, featuring airtight songwriting and vibrant sonics. Closer “Graycious” with Koolade is a triumphant finisher with bright vibes and memorable production that blends Detroit and West Coast influences for a strong closer that feels celebratory.

Handling executive production himself, Valid collaborated with his regular team of producers including Pig Pen, Grammy-winning Tone Rizzo, and Grammy-winning, diamond-certified producer DJ Headthroughout the album’s creation.
