Now, the rising star is bringing that energy directly to the clubs with his latest single, “Make That Thang Clap,” from his new album “On They Bumper”.

“Everything I rap about comes from somewhere I’ve lived through or seen firsthand,” Jimmy explains. “My music is hip hop, but it’s also my journey.”
That journey has taken him across multiple regions and cultures, giving his music a perspective that stands apart from today’s copy-and-paste rap landscape. Influenced by artists including Larry White, Big Swol, Sik Da Don Sikosa, Street, Stack, Stonewick, Rinnessy, Tef Kaluminoti, Mezonic, WF Doc, and Notti Castro, Jimmy Black The Journeyman combines raw street influence with the energy of records designed to move crowds.
The creation of “Make That Thang Clap” happened naturally during a late-night studio session inspired by attraction, confidence, and the feeling of living in the moment. The original concept started over a New Orleans bounce-style production from Cris Siege, but everything elevated when South Carolina producer Ablaze Da Architek played Jimmy a beat that immediately felt undeniable.
“The second I heard it, I knew that was the one,” Jimmy says.
After laying down his vocals, Jimmy decided the record needed another personality to fully bring the vision to life. He reached out to Bella Blaq, whose feature added a smooth but aggressive energy to the track. Engineer KP later finalized the record, helping shape the song into a polished club anthem that you’ll be hearing all summer!
